Mission Statement
Trinity Christian School will seek to bring glory to God by working with parents to teach their children about God and his world. The school will provide an understanding of the world from a Biblical perspective and will aim to equip its pupils to live in a way which honours God and serves other people.
School Vision
Our vision is to develop our pupils’ understanding of the world in which they live which is grounded in a Biblical perspective; to develop the character of our pupils, giving them an ability to respond to the challenges and opportunities of life in modern day Britain and equipping them to live in a way which honours God and serves other people in the diverse community in which they live.
We will achieve this through a broad curriculum which sets high educational expectations of the pupils and provides an opportunity to explore wide ranging issues and develop independent thinking through lessons which engage and relate to the individual development of each pupil.
Teachers will model and the school will expect high standards of personal conduct in pupils interaction with each other, with their teachers and in their interaction with the wider community whilst at school. Particular focus will be given to the attributes of character taught within the bible of love and care for other people, obedience to rules (both school rules, criminal and civil laws set by society, and rules for life found in the bible), self motivation to strive for excellence in what they do, discernment and enjoyment in learning.
“The fear of the Lord- that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.”
– Job 28:28
“In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
– Colossians 2:3
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.”
– John 14:6
Values
Truth – the curriculum will seek to uphold the concept of absolute truth, promoting what is true and right.
Knowledge as a whole – the curriculum will be orderly and systematic, coherent and integral, reflecting God as the author of all knowledge and the concept of knowledge as a whole, rather than discrete, disconnected autonomous parts.
Discernment – the curriculum will seek to encourage skills of discernment and critical analysis of the world and human experiences, with a view to preparing pupils for life, and to play a positive part in society.
Joy – the curriculum will seek to foster in pupils a joy of learning, a motivation for active discipleship as they consider their role in society, and a wholehearted love of God and neighbour rather than simply a desire for personal fulfilment or advancement.
Breadth – the curriculum will be broad and balanced in content and teaching styles.
Excellence – the curriculum will promote striving for excellence motivated by love for a perfect God rather than personal satisfaction or advancement. It will seek to create an environment in which talents and abilities can be identified and nurtured to their full potential.
Creativity and imagination – the curriculum will seek to foster creativity, imagination, exploration and discovery.
